paperless with my tech gurus' help

So, I have been freaking out about how I am going to get students to send me their completed assignments electronically from the student workbook.  My technology dept said I would have to pay $60/license to get Acrobat Professional - no thanks.  The techies discovered that CutePDF Writer (FREE) will allow my students to just send me the pages from their workbook that I am requiring of them.  I am sure some of you knew this already, but for those of you who don't, I am attaching the step-by-step directions on how my kids can send me their assignments.

Movie Resources

I learned about this at a recent conference.  www.teachwithmovies.org It costs $11.99 a year to join but you have unlimited access to movies with pre-done lessons.  They are not as financially focused as ours are but are good in a pinch and provide good ideas for us to build on.

This could be very useful when you an unexpected sub day and have already shown all of the movies in our active learning section.

Bloom's 2.0 Taxonomy

My principal shared this with us today.... it's pretty cool, and there's stuff on here that I hadn't heard about.  Of course, we can't get all of these, but it is a good resource nonetheless.

online workbook

So, I am going to attempt to be as paperless as possible next trimester by utilizing the online workbook.  Who can give me tips, tools, etc to make it a successful transition for me and my students?

Animoto Question

Question for those of you who have used Animoto for projects in class.....
Do you have each student create their own account? (I think this only allows a 30 sec video) or Do you create an education account and give your students the account information to create their videos under your name/account?  I've seen some great student samples on here that are more than 2 minutes long, so I'm just wondering how that was done.

Digital school in NC

This is pretty darn cool!  I hate that they had to let teachers go, but how cool is it that each kid has it's own laptop?  This is what I want to see in all schools!
