Choosing an occupation can be a difficult, but important, decision. Young adults should begin thinking today about how they will invest in their human capital, transferable skills and education to be qualified for a variety of job opportunities that create well-being. Well-being comes from feeling good about all areas of one’s life. Finding a career that positively contributes to your well-being is accomplished through career exploration. Career exploration is a deliberate process that pairs personal interests and abilities with desired education level and type of employment. By identifying with a young worker bee in this Active Learning Tool, students explore the advantages and disadvantages of career choices as well as analyzing their personal values and understanding the impact a career has on family and friends.
