In this lesson, participants learn many basic investing concepts. Participants will play the Rolling Jenga Active Learning Tool for a vocabulary introduction or a conclusion option. For the anticipatory set options, students can use the Planning for Life Events cards or watch a video from Millions Stories Media about compounding interest. To introduce the concepts of risk vs. return and investment philosophy, complete the “Risk vs. Return” activity using candy and dice. To conclude the lesson, have participants complete a risk tolerance quiz, invite a guest speaker to the classroom or have them play ‘Round the Bases with investing questions. Create “foldables” from the Foldables Active Learning Tool to summarize all of the investing concepts presented throughout the lesson.
