In this lesson, participants will begin by completing a money scavenger hunt to create excitement about saving money. Throughout the lesson, the children’s book A Chair for My Mother can be read to reinforce the concept that people may have to save money to obtain certain items. To create a visual of the concept of compounding interest the Time Value of Money Magic Active Learning Tool can be completed. There are many options to conclude and assess the concepts introduced in the lesson including playing a matching activity similar to the game Memory and writing an advice column.
