From the Spending Unit. Particpants begin by brainstorming things about the vocabulary words to hang in the room. For the anticipatory set options, participants will do a store brand vs. name brand challenge or watch the Robots movie trailer to discuss about purchasing a new item vs. fixing an old item. There are two conclusion options for this lesson plan, participants will discuss what goes into product research or the reinforcement sheet. There are two assessment options, participants will create a photo journal or complete a planned buying process worksheet for an item they would like to purchase.

  • Distinguish between needs and wants to prioritize spending
  • Identify the difference between consumable and durable goods
  • Calculate cost per use and total cost of ownership
